About the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Collection

The Vacheron Constantin Overseas collection reflects the brand's storied commitment to precision, elegance, and adventure. Originally launched in the 1990s and reimagined in 2016, the Overseas line combines Swiss haute horlogerie with travel-ready practicality — quick-release bracelets, antimagnetic protection, and water resistance. From the signature 4500V with its clean dial and integrated bracelet to the 4300 Perpetual Calendar and 550V Chrono, these timepieces appeal to collectors who value understated luxury with a bold presence. Notable features include in-house calibers with Geneva Seal finishing, interchangeable strap systems, and refined cases in steel, gold, or titanium. Whether you're seeking a classic three-hand model, a second-generation chronograph, or a first-generation reference with historical appeal, the Overseas offers something distinct in the world of high-end sports watches.

In 2004, a more modern version of the Vacheron Constantin Overseas was released with a sportier look and feel. This rendition featured a half Maltese cross motif on the bezel, bracelet links, and a 42mm case. A soft iron antimagnetic screen bulked the watch up for day-to-day wear, while the metal bracelet was optimized for better comfort. In 2006, a dual time Overseas joined the collection, its second time zone and day night indications again making the watch appeal to jet-setters. In the following year, the Vacheron Constantin Overseas was available on an alligator leather or rubber strap for the first time, leaning into the luxury lifestyle appeal of the collection.

In 2016, the Vacheron Constantin Overseas was revamped with a more elegant and refined style while retaining its distinctive character. The Maltese cross bezel was minimized from eight notches to six, and was spread to the outside rim of the case. The new roundness of the dial opening was accentuated with a disc below the bezel, and the case back no longer featured naval engravings, but a sapphire crystal revealing the mechanics within. Reintroduced as a versatile timepiece, the new Overseas design allowed for interchangeable bracelets to easily swap between styles for different occasions.

Now, the Vacheron Constantin Overseas family offers 6 models with 18 references and many different complications such as a perpetual calendar or tourbillon. Learn more about the Overseas’ history in the sports watch market in our review, Time For a Change .
